Network Support Engineer

Orland Park, IL
General Summary
Responsible for installing, securing and monitoring networks (LAN and WAN). Assist in establishing a secure computer network and keep it operational. Performs a wide variety of installation, maintenance and training tasks to ensure the network performance meets company and user satisfaction.

 Administer, manage and maintain Network Infrastructure hardware and software  Ongoing documentation of Network Infrastructure
 Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with IT Department on network optimization
 Escalating problems to vendors
 Work with IT Security to implement and maintain secure systems
 Manage network and server vulnerabilities
 Support Disaster Recovery operations
 On Site Network Preventive Maintenance to all Branch locations as necessary
 Research and stay current with Infrastructure technologies
 Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information
 Must have the availability to adhere to a flexible work schedule
 Other duties & responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor

Skills/Abilities Required
 Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
 Ability to lift at least 50lbs of IT-related equipment (i.e. PCs/Servers, printers, monitors and any other peripherals)
 Knowledge of Windows servers, database servers and desktop products
 Excellent verbal and written communications
 Excellent listening skills
 Ability to work in a group or independently
 Knowledge of computer network security systems, procedures, techniques and applications
 Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols
 2-4 years’ experience with server virtualization
 2-4 years’ experience with Network Administration
 Experience with DNS, DHCP, TCP\IP

 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired
 Cisco training
 Windows Infrastructure systems training
 Active Directory Administration  SQL training
 VMWare training
 Citrix training
 Veeam training
